Custodial Wallets

Personal or business wallets controlled by a company or cryptocurrency exchange (like Coinbase or Binance), which stores your private keys for you. Custodial wallets are considered less safe than noncustodial wallets because if hackers were able to access an exchange’s network, they could potentially access your private keys and ultimately have complete control of your account balance, allowing them to steal your digital assets.

  1. Cardano (ADA)

    Cardano is a decentralized open-source blockchain platform built with proof-of-stake (PoS) consensus, offering smart contract capabilities, and using the native cryptocurrency ADA.

  2. Caroline Ellison

    A former math nerd and Standford University graduate, Ellison would go on to run billion-dollar cryptocurrency hedge fund Alameda Research as CEO. Recruited by Sam Bankman-Fried, Ellison was a member of the core team that ran both Alameda Research and FTX, the world’s 5th largest cryptocurrency and derivatives exchange before its Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing in November 2022.

  3. Changpeng Zhao (CZ)

    Changpeng Zhao, also known simply as CZ, is a Chinese-Canadian entrepreneur most well known as the founder and CEO of Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange. After the collapse of FTX, and after committing $2b BUSD to a recovery fund to help distressed crypto assets, CZ is seen by some as the new savior or white knight of rypto.

  5. Choppy Market

    Circulating Supply refers to the number of coins or tokens of a specific cryptocurrency that are publicly available to buy or sell. If you can trade them, they are considered circulating. Circulating supply shouldn’t be confused with Total Supply or Max Supply.

    A Coin is a digital asset that operates on its own underlying blockchain. It doesn’t run on the blockchain of other cryptocurrencies. bitcoin(BTC) is the best example of a coin.

    Started in 2012, Coinbase, the largest centralized cryptocurrency exchange (CEX) in the US, is based in San Francisco, California. Coinbase operates in 100 countries around the world, offering roughly 197 coins for trading, in 500+ different markets.

  9. Cold Storage

    Cold Storage is a short and long-term cryptocurrency storage solution that involves storing most or all of your cryptocurrency reserves offline. Forms of offline storage include a computer not connected to the Internet, hardware wallets like the Ledger Nano, a USB thumb drive that is kept in a safe or other secure location, on a piece of paper, or even on other physical items like an actual coin.

    Cold wallets are not connected to the Internet, providing added security over hot wallets. Cold wallets are not directly exposed to Internet security threats like hacks, phishing attempts, malware, viruses, and other attacks that could lead to the permanent loss of your cryptocurrencies and digital assets.
